TITLE: Worship Arts Leader

OVERVIEW OF POSITION
This individual is responsible for the overall ‘worship ministry’ of our church (by dynamically and creatively promoting our Vision, Mission & Core Values) with an emphasis on (1) our Sunday morning services (experiences) and (2) developing others (including NextGen). This individual must be dependable with a positive attitude, capable of performing physical duties, available weekdays and weekends and have reliable transportation.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS OF POSITION
EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (ideally in music). We are looking for an individual with significant experience leading worship with an inviting & engaging presence in a contemporary context with a proven ability to build teams & develop others in the area of worship arts (i.e., vocal, instrumental, technology, etc.).

SHEPHERDING RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner with the Pastoral Staff in providing compassion for the struggles and concerns of others.
• Possess the necessary gifts and aptitude for the shepherding ministry of a church staff member.

WORSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate with Pastors to plan series & services (music, creative elements, announcements, etc.).
• Collaborate with Communication Coordinator on creative elements of series that includes, but is not limited to graphic design, bumper, social media, marketing, use of app, etc.
• Create ‘Planning Center’ service schedules.
o Schedule teams each week (worship leader, vocalists, instrumentalists, tech, etc.)
o Schedules should be a minimum of six (6) weeks out with the goal being 13 weeks out
o Secure substitutes when needed
• Approving selection of songs by Worship Leaders (i.e., theologically sound, culturally proper, etc.).
• Be present for mid-week & Sunday rehearsals to ensure preparedness and excellence.
• Provide direction for team when needed, troubleshoot issues, provide communication for Pastors and Elders when needed / requested, etc.
• Oversee & lead worship in rotation with other worship leaders.
o Our desire is to have multiple worship leaders so that the Worship Arts Leader is not responsible for leading each week (post-hire discussion on frequency once established)
o Responsible for planning and organizing the Worship Leader rotation
o Communicate rotation schedule and service plans with worship team in a timely way
o Be aware of ‘worship’ and ‘tech’ schedules due to crossover team members
• Recruit, train/develop, equip , empower, disciple & lead team members.
o Worship team members (leaders, vocalists, instrumentalists, etc.)
o Tech team members (sound, ProPresenter, camera, etc.)
• Plan special events (Christmas, Easter, Worship Nights, etc.).
• Work with Student Ministries Pastor in a way that develops students in worship (i.e., leadership pipeline, mentoring, etc.) as well as the planning of events throughout the year (i.e., Student Takeover, Ignite Band, incorporating students into the life of the church, etc.) including the worship aspect of the High School Student Ministries Wednesday Night Experience (September – May).
• Oversee all aspects of worship technology including, but not limited to scheduling (Planning Center), presentation (ProPresenter), sound, lighting, video and live streaming as well as campus technology (i.e., Student Ministries, Children’s Ministry, Fellowship Hall, portable, etc.).
• Oversee the designing, developing, maintaining and managing of the campus tech equipment & needs.
• Facilitate stage/set design creation.
• Prepare, oversee & manage ministry area budget.
• Stay current with worship arts practices by networking, researching, reading, podcasts, etc.
• Participate in regular staff meetings, events & projects.
• Possess the gifts and aptitude for discipling others.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner with the Lead Pastor and Pastoral Staff in providing spiritual leadership and direction to members of the church. The major area of focus will be worship.
• Follow the example of Jesus Christ as a ‘servant leader’ in the home and in the church.
COMPENSATION
• Competitive and negotiable depending on level of education and ministry experiences related to worship arts and worship technology.
• Benefits are included in the compensation package.
